President Donald Trump is set to sign one of his first executive orders to establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The new department, co-led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, aims to reduce government spending and modernize federal software systems to align with private-sector standards. DOGE will operate within the U.S. government and focus initially on updating information technology across various agencies. The executive order also mandates that every federal agency establish its own DOGE team to work alongside the Office of Management and Budget to shrink the federal workforce, spending, and regulatory burdens. Following the announcement, the Senate DOGE Caucus was formed to support these efforts.
