The letter aims to block the U.S. sale and release of the film, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week. Trump's attorneys argue that the film is defamatory and constitutes illegal election interference. The letter warns the filmmakers, according to two people who have read it, not to pursue a distribution deal. The producers of the film, described as 'Fair & Balanced,' have yet to respond.
