VisitTrump Picks Ex-Rep and 'Real World' Star Sean Duffy as Transportation Secretary
Nov 18, 2024, 11:47 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced the nomination of Sean Duffy, a former Wisconsin Congressman, prosecutor, and Fox Business host, as Secretary of Transportation. Duffy, who served five terms in Congress and gained early fame as a cast member on MTV's 'The Real World,' is currently a co-host of 'The Bottom Line' on Fox Business. He is set to oversee aviation, automotive, rail, transit, and other transportation policies at the Department of Transportation. Trump noted that Duffy will prioritize excellence, competence, competitiveness, and beauty in rebuilding the nation's infrastructure, including highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports. Duffy will also focus on ensuring that ports and dams serve the economy without unnecessary regulations. Additionally, he plans to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for pilots and air traffic controllers. The nomination requires Senate confirmation.
