Trump Names Ex-PayPal COO David Sacks as First AI and Crypto Czar

President Donald Trump has appointed David O. Sacks as the White House AI and Cryptocurrency Czar, a newly created position. Sacks, a venture capitalist, former PayPal Chief Operating Officer, and host of the All-In Podcast, will oversee US tech policy, focusing on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. In his new role, Sacks will work on a legal framework so the crypto industry has the clarity it has been asking for and strengthen US leadership in emerging technologies. He will also lead the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology. Announcing the appointment via Truth Social, Trump stated, "David has the knowledge, business experience, intelligence, and pragmatism to make America great in these two critical technologies."
