VisitTrump Meets Macron in Paris Ahead of Notre-Dame Reopening; Zelensky to Join Trilateral Talks
Dec 7, 2024, 04:16 PM
US President-elect Donald Trump arrived in Paris for his first international trip since the election to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral. The two leaders engaged in a series of strong handshakes at the Élysée Palace, marking their first meeting in five years. Trump remarked during the meeting, "It seems like the world is going a little crazy right now, and we'll talk about it." The reopening of Notre-Dame comes after the cathedral was heavily damaged in a fire in 2019. Trump is also expected to participate in a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Macron, as announced by the Élysée Palace.
