VisitTrump-Endorsed 116-Page CR Cuts Over 90% from Bill, Funds Government Until March 2025
Dec 19, 2024, 09:32 PM
The new text for the Continuing Resolution (CR), known as the 'American Relief Act', has been released, reducing the length of the bill from over 1,500 pages to 116 pages, a reduction of more than 90%. The previous CR, released two days ago, was 1,547 pages long. The new, shorter CR reportedly removes much of the previous 'pork', including congressional pay raises, and includes provisions for hurricane relief and funding for American farmers. The bill will keep the government funded until March 2025. President Trump, who endorsed the spending bill, is credited with influencing the reduction in size and elimination of unnecessary spending, calling the new CR a "very good Deal for the American People". According to sources, Democrats were forced to remove pork from the bill.
