VisitTrump and Elon Musk Witness Historic Sixth Starship Launch in Texas
Nov 19, 2024, 09:13 PM
President-elect Donald Trump, accompanied by his son Donald Jr. and Senator Ted Cruz, attended SpaceX's sixth test flight of its 30-foot-wide, 397-foot-tall Starship rocket in Boca Chica, Texas, on Tuesday. Trump met with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk at the company's Starbase facility to witness the launch, scheduled for 4 p.m. Central Time. This marks the first time a U.S. president-elect has attended a Starship launch in person. Prior to the event, Trump stated, "I'm heading to the Great State of Texas to watch the launch of the largest object ever to be elevated, not only to Space, but simply by lifting off the ground. Good luck to Elon Musk and the Great Patriots involved in this incredible project!" The Starship, a key part of Musk's ambitions for space exploration and eventual missions to Mars, successfully lifted off on schedule. Trump's attendance underscores his interest in supporting private space endeavors and technological innovation.
