Jan 7, 2025, 05:13 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced a $20 billion investment in U.S. data centers by billionaire Hussain Sajwani, chairman of Dubai-based DAMAC Properties and a close business partner of the Trump family. The investment, which may potentially double, will fund the construction of new data centers across eight states: Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana. The data centers will support advancements in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, bolstering the nation's technological infrastructure. Sajwani, who said, 'This moment has been four years in the making,' was inspired by Trump's election victory. Trump indicated he would help expedite environmental reviews to facilitate the project.
