VisitTrump Adviser Boris Epshteyn Sought $40,000 Monthly Payments from Job Seekers, Internal Probe Finds
Nov 26, 2024, 03:19 AM
Donald Trump's legal team has conducted an internal investigation into allegations that one of his top advisers, Boris Epshteyn, a Russian-American political strategist, sought payments from potential administration nominees in exchange for promoting their candidacies. The review concluded that Epshteyn asked individuals seeking positions in the upcoming Trump administration to provide monthly consulting fees for his advocacy, proposing fees of $30,000 to $40,000 per month. In at least one instance, Epshteyn allegedly approached Scott Bessent, who was reportedly interested in the Treasury Secretary position, offering to promote him around Mar-a-Lago, Trump's Florida estate. The internal report warned of potential scandal and possible criminal charges, recommending that Epshteyn's employment and proximity to Trump be terminated. Epshteyn has denied the allegations.
