Oct 27, 2024, 08:32 AM
On Sunday morning, October 27, 2024, a truck rammed into a crowded bus stop near the Glilot Junction, close to Cinema City Glilot in Ramat HaSharon, central Israel. The incident resulted in approximately 50 injuries, including up to 15 in serious condition. Many of the victims were Israeli soldiers on their way to military bases, and some remained trapped under the truck's wreckage. The driver, reportedly a Palestinian from East Jerusalem, was shot dead at the scene. Authorities are treating the incident as a suspected terror attack, and a special Home Front Command team was dispatched due to the complexity of the situation. The Glilot area, north of Tel Aviv, is home to significant military and intelligence installations, including the Mossad headquarters and IDF's Unit 8200.
