VisitTragic Accident at Carlton Station: 40-Year-Old Father and Two-Year-Old Daughter Killed
Jul 21, 2024, 08:11 AM
A tragic accident occurred at Carlton Railway Station in Sydney's south, resulting in the deaths of a 40-year-old man and his two-year-old daughter. The incident took place on Sunday around 12:25 pm when a pram carrying twin two-year-old girls rolled onto the train tracks. The father, in a heroic attempt to save his daughters, leapt onto the tracks but was struck by an oncoming train along with one of the girls. The other two-year-old girl and a 39-year-old woman were not injured and are being assessed. NSW Premier Chris Minns has expressed his sadness over the incident, describing it as a 'confronting and sad day.' Investigations are underway, and Sydney trains were temporarily halted following the accident. NSW Police are urging the public to avoid Carlton Railway Station.
