Toyota and four other Japanese automakers are under scrutiny for irregularities in vehicle certification processes. The Japanese Ministry of Transport has committed to investigating these issues, with a particular focus on Toyota. A government investigation revealed that Toyota falsified data and avoided impact-safety tests while certifying seven past and current vehicles. Additionally, Toyota submitted faulty data during pedestrian-safety tests for three current models. Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary, Hayashi, expressed deep regret over the series of irregularities. The Transport Ministry has announced plans to search Toyota Motor Corp's head office as part of the investigation.
