Toho Acquires 100% of GKIDS, Studio Ghibli's U.S. Steward, on October 15

Japanese entertainment giant Toho has acquired 100% of North American animation distributor GKIDS. GKIDS, known for distributing projects like 'The Boy and the Heron' and 'Arcane', as well as being Studio Ghibli's U.S. steward, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toho International, based in Los Angeles. This acquisition, announced on October 15, includes GKIDS' role in distributing Oscar-winning animated films and titles like 'Godzilla Minus One'.
