Borgonzi, who has been with the Chiefs for 16 seasons and was promoted to assistant GM in 2021, emerged as the favored candidate following a series of interviews with multiple candidates. The Titans conducted in-person interviews with six finalists, including Ian Cunningham from the Chicago Bears, John Spytek from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Jon-Eric Sullivan from the Green Bay Packers. Borgonzi's appointment comes after the Titans fired their previous general manager, Ran Carthon, following a 3-14 season. Borgonzi played a key role in the Chiefs' success, contributing to three Super Bowl victories. His role with the Titans will involve working closely with the team's president of football operations, Chad Brinker, and they will face significant decisions, including the use of the team's first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and managing approximately $44 million in cap space.
