Sep 16, 2024, 11:00 AM
Tim Burton's highly anticipated sequel, 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,' has made a significant impact at the box office. The film, which stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, topped the domestic box office charts for the second consecutive weekend, earning $51.6 million in ticket sales. The sequel has grossed $264 million in two weeks. Originally, Warner Bros. considered releasing the film directly to streaming on Max, but Burton insisted on a theatrical release. To make this possible, the budget was reduced from $147 million to under $100 million, with the principal cast agreeing to work for less money upfront. The movie has been well-received, with many praising its quality and Burton's visionary direction. Warner Bros. film boss Pam Abdy and screenwriter Al Gough also played key roles in the film's production. Additionally, the character Lydia Deetz, portrayed by Winona Ryder, makes a return.
