VisitTiger Woods Undergoes Successful Sixth Microdecompression Back Surgery
Sep 13, 2024, 08:01 PM
Tiger Woods announced on Friday that he underwent his sixth back surgery, a microdecompression procedure to address nerve impingement in his lower back. The surgery, performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, was deemed successful. Woods, who has experienced back spasms and pain throughout 2024, hopes this procedure will alleviate his symptoms. Despite the surgery, Woods, a 15-time major champion, is expected to be available for the TGL league in January. This marks his fifth microdecompression surgery and his first since 2021. Woods, who is 48 years old, expressed hope for a successful recovery and a return to competitive golf.
