May 31, 2024, 10:10 PM
Ticketmaster has confirmed a significant data breach affecting 560 million customers globally. The hacker group ShinyHunters has claimed responsibility for the breach, stating that they have stolen 1.3 terabytes of data, including names, addresses, phone numbers, partial credit card details, hashed payment details, ticket sales, and event details. The stolen information is being offered for sale on the dark web for $500,000. Live Nation, Ticketmaster's parent company, discovered the unauthorized activity on May 20 and confirmed the breach in a federal filing on May 27. Authorities in Australia and the FBI are investigating the incident. Ticketmaster has urged users to change their passwords and monitor their accounts for suspicious activity.
