Texas Judge Allows Elon Musk's X Lawsuit Against Media Matters to Proceed

A federal judge in Texas has ruled that Elon Musk's social media company, X, can proceed with its lawsuit against Media Matters for America. The lawsuit accuses the media watchdog of fabricating images that allegedly showed advertisements from major brands alongside extremist content on X. This report purportedly led to some companies pausing or stopping their advertising on the platform. Media Matters' motion to dismiss the lawsuit was denied by U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor, who found that X had sufficiently alleged that Media Matters acted with actual malice. Judge O'Connor, who owns Tesla stock, did not recuse himself from the case.
