VisitTexans' Stefon Diggs Out for Season After Tearing ACL in Right Knee
Oct 29, 2024, 05:38 PM
Stefon Diggs, wide receiver for the Houston Texans, will miss the remainder of the 2024 NFL season after tearing the ACL in his right knee during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The injury occurred as a non-contact incident during the game. An MRI on Monday confirmed the torn ACL, and head coach DeMeco Ryans announced on Tuesday that Diggs will undergo season-ending surgery. "Unfortunately, he tore his ACL. He'll be out for the year. It really hurts our team to hear that news," Ryans said. Diggs has been placed on injured reserve. Quarterback C.J. Stroud expressed his sympathy, stating, "I feel really bad for him. He was having the best time playing football in his career, that's what he told us." Diggs, who is on an expiring contract and set to become a free agent this offseason, had been a key contributor to the Texans' offense. The team will need to adjust their receiving corps in his absence.
