VisitTexans' DE Denico Autry Suspended Six Games for PED Violation, Loses $1.5M Salary
Jul 29, 2024, 05:12 PM
Houston Texans defensive end Denico Autry has been suspended for six games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Autry, who signed with the Texans this offseason, released a statement asserting that he did not intentionally or knowingly ingest a banned substance and apologized to teammates and fans. The suspension will cost Autry $1.5 million of his salary, $500,000 of his signing bonus, and $177,000 of per-game bonuses. Additionally, the full guarantee for his remaining $3 million salary for 2024 has been voided. Autry's suspension delays his debut with the Texans after a successful 2023 season with the Tennessee Titans, where he recorded a career-high 11.5 sacks in 14 starts, 17 quarterback hits, and 12 tackles for loss.
