VisitTesla's China-Made Vehicle Sales Drop 6.6% in May to 72,573 Units, Fell 6.5% M/M

Tesla Inc sold 72,573 China-made vehicles in May, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). This marks a 6.6% year-over-year decline in sales and a 6.5% month-over-month decrease. Despite the monthly decrease, Tesla remains China's second-largest electric vehicle (EV) seller, trailing behind BYD, which delivered 330,488 units in the same period, a 38.2% increase year-over-year. From January to May 2024, Tesla's China sales totaled 355,616 vehicles, down 7.11% compared to the same period last year. In contrast, the overall China new energy vehicle (NEV) market saw a 35% year-over-year increase and a 16% month-over-month rise in May, with wholesale figures reaching 910,000 units.
