VisitTesla Reports Best Q2 2024 Autopilot Safety Record with 1 Crash per 6.88 Million Miles
Aug 7, 2024, 04:01 AM
Tesla has reported significant improvements in its Autopilot technology for the second quarter of 2024. The company recorded one crash for every 6.88 million miles driven with Autopilot, marking its best Q2 performance to date. In comparison, for drivers not using Autopilot, Tesla recorded one crash for every 1.45 million miles driven. This data indicates that Tesla vehicles using Autopilot are now 10 times less likely to be involved in an accident. Additionally, Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system has accumulated over 1.6 billion cumulative miles under supervision. Despite some criticism regarding the disengagement rate of FSD 12.5, which stands at 182 miles, Tesla continues to enhance its vehicle safety features.
