Tesla is recalling 1,849,638 vehicles in the United States due to a software issue that may fail to detect an unlatched hood, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects certain 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highlighted the risk of the hood flying open while driving, which could obstruct the driver’s view. Tesla has addressed the issue by releasing an over-the-air software update to rectify the problem.
