VisitTesla Faces California Class-Action Lawsuit Over $8,000 FSD Claims
May 16, 2024, 02:35 PM
A U.S. federal judge in California has rejected Tesla's bid to dismiss a proposed class-action lawsuit accusing the company of misleading consumers about the self-driving capabilities of its vehicles. The lawsuit, which can now move forward, alleges that Tesla deceived customers into believing their cars would soon be able to drive autonomously. The case was brought by a customer who spent $8,000 on Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) package in 2017, believing it would enable autonomous driving from New York to Los Angeles by the end of that year.
