Jun 10, 2024, 08:31 AM
A terror attack on a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, has resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people, including two children, with numbers potentially rising. The bus was ambushed by terrorists who opened fire, causing it to fall into a gorge. The attack left 33 others injured, with some in critical condition. The incident occurred as the pilgrims were returning from visiting the Shiv Khori shrine. The terrorists continued firing even after the bus had fallen, with survivors recounting the horror. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was shot first. The Indian Army and police have launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers, believed to be affiliated with the Pakistan-backed Lashkar group. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Investigation Agency (SIA) are involved in the investigation. Nine victims have been identified, including four from Rajasthan and three from Uttar Pradesh. The attack has drawn widespread condemnation, with political leaders and officials vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
