VisitTempo Traveller Accident in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand: 8 Dead, Several Injured on Badrinath Highway

A tragic road accident occurred in Uttarakhand when a tempo traveller carrying about 17 passengers fell into a deep gorge near the Badrinath Highway in Rudraprayag, plunging into the Alaknanda River. The incident resulted in the death of at least eight people, with reports varying between eight to ten fatalities. Rescue operations are being conducted by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police, with around 15 injured passengers being transported to hospitals. Some of the injured have been airlifted to higher medical centers in Rishikesh. The tempo was reportedly traveling from Noida, Uttar Pradesh to Rudraprayag and fell into a 150-200 metre deep gorge. IG Garhwal Karan Singh Nagnyal and Rudraprayag SP Vishakha Ashok Bhadane are overseeing the rescue efforts. The local administration, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, have expressed their condolences and assured that rescue and relief efforts are ongoing.
