American tennis player Taylor Fritz achieved a remarkable comeback victory over World No. 4 Alexander Zverev at Wimbledon 2024. Fritz, ranked No. 13, rallied from two sets down to win 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-3 in a thrilling five-set match on Centre Court. This victory marks Fritz's second Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance and his first win over a top 5 player at a major. Fritz's performance included 15 aces, zero double faults, and an impressive 83% of first serve points won. The match lasted 3h30, making it the biggest Grand Slam win of Fritz's career. He will face Lorenzo Musetti in the quarterfinals. This is the first time since 2000 that two American men, Fritz and Tommy Paul, have reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
