VisitTaliban Pledges Gradual Ban on Media Publishing Images of Living Beings
Oct 14, 2024, 04:49 PM
Afghanistan's Taliban morality ministry has pledged to enforce a law banning news media from publishing images of all living things, with journalists informed that the rule will be gradually implemented. The new law prohibits content deemed hostile to Sharia and religion or that humiliate Muslims. Television channels in Takhar Province have ceased operations following a Taliban directive prohibiting the broadcast of footage featuring living beings, according to the Afghanistan Journalists Center (AJSO). However, the law is not yet being strictly enforced.
