VisitTaiwan Firm Denies Making Hezbollah's Explosive Pagers Made in Hungary Amid Israeli Attack in Lebanon
Sep 18, 2024, 07:53 AM
Taiwanese company Gold Apollo has denied manufacturing the explosive pagers used by Hezbollah militants in Lebanon and Syria. According to a statement released by Gold Apollo, the AR-924 pagers were manufactured by BAC Consulting KFT, a company based in Budapest, Hungary. The incident, which involved simultaneous explosions across Lebanon on Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of at least nine people, including a child, and thousands of injuries. Gold Apollo clarified that while it authorized its brand name on the pagers, the actual manufacturing was done by the Hungarian company. The explosions, which have been linked to an apparent Israeli attack, have raised concerns over the involvement of foreign intelligence agencies in the supply chain.
