Jul 12, 2024, 01:09 PM
AT&T has disclosed a significant data breach that affected nearly all of its cellular customers. The breach involved the unauthorized download of call and text records from a third-party cloud platform, identified as Snowflake Inc., between May and October 2022, and January 2, 2023. This breach impacted around 109 million customer accounts, compromising phone numbers, call, and text metadata. AT&T learned about the breach in April 2024, specifically between April 14 and 25, and has begun notifying affected customers. Despite the scale of the breach, the company stated that the incident has not had a material impact on its operations.
