A Syrian migrant has been detained in Essen, Germany, following a series of violent attacks and arson incidents. The suspect, aged 41, set several fires in residential buildings, injuring around 31 people, including two children who are in mortal danger. Emergency services were deployed to three locations simultaneously to contain the fires. The suspect, reportedly wearing Islamic combat gear, also chased passers-by with a machete and combat knife. The suspect, who posed as a fake Syrian asylum seeker, was captured by locals before being arrested by the police. The motives behind these attacks are still unknown.
