Sep 10, 2024, 05:31 AM
The Supreme Court of India has stayed further proceedings in a defamation case against senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. The case revolves around Tharoor's alleged 'scorpion on Shivling' remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to BJP leader Rajiv Babbar and sought a response from Delhi Police. Tharoor had approached the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him relief. The defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar will be considered by the Rouse Avenue court on September 21.
