VisitSupreme Court Dismisses Sandip Ghosh's Plea Challenging CBI Probe
Sep 6, 2024, 03:40 AM
Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, has approached the Supreme Court to challenge the Calcutta High Court's decision to transfer a graft case against him to the CBI. Ghosh argued that he was not given a proper hearing by the High Court. The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for his plea on September 6. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids at multiple locations, including Ghosh's residence, in connection with alleged financial irregularities at RG Kar Medical College. The ED team has registered a case of PMLA and conducted raids at 5-6 locations. The Supreme Court ultimately dismissed Ghosh's plea, stating that he does not have the locus to intervene in the public interest litigation.
