The Supreme Court of India has commenced suo muto hearings on the case involving the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata today. The court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit a fresh status report on the investigation by September 17.
