Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh set a new Olympic record in the women's 200-meter individual medley at the Paris Olympics with a time of 2:06.56. This victory marks her third gold medal and fourth overall medal at the 2024 Games, making her the first Canadian to win three gold medals in a single Summer Olympics. Kate Douglass of the United States secured the silver medal with a time of 2:06.92, while Australia's Kaylee McKeown took bronze with a time of 2:08.08. McIntosh's performance also set a World Junior record and a Canadian record, establishing her as the third fastest performer of all time in this event. Alex Walsh was initially awarded bronze but was later disqualified.
