VisitSuicide VBIED Attack Near Karachi Airport Kills One, Injures Ten; BLA's Majeed Brigade Claims Responsibility

An explosion occurred at the last signal before Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan, on the evening of October 6, 2024. The blast, identified as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), targeted a convoy carrying foreign nationals, including Chinese engineers and investors, according to Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjhar. At least one person was killed and ten others were injured, including four policemen, a member of the Rangers, a woman, and a foreign national. The Baloch Liberation Army's (BLA) Majeed Brigade claimed responsibility for the suicide attack. Several vehicles, including security forces' vehicles, were destroyed and set ablaze in the explosion. Initial reports had conflicting accounts of the cause, with some suggesting an oil tanker explosion. The incident is under investigation.
