Jan 1, 2025, 07:56 PM
The Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff quarterfinal game between Georgia and Notre Dame, originally scheduled for 7:45 p.m. CT on Wednesday in New Orleans, has been postponed until Thursday, Jan. 2, after a deadly attack in the city. The attack occurred early on New Year's Day on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, involving a truck that killed at least 10 people and injured dozens. Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley announced the postponement, and the Superdome is currently under lockdown as authorities investigate the incident, which is being treated as an act of terrorism.
