The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan have reportedly shot down a cargo plane belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by mistake. The incident occurred around 04:00 local time in the Malha region of North Darfur. Initially, RSF claimed the aircraft was a bomber used by the Sudanese army. However, the downed aircraft was identified as an Ilyushin Il-76, which was being used to deliver military aid to the RSF. The plane was linked to 'Airline Transport Incorporation FZC,' a UAE-based company with connections to Kyrgyzstan. The RSF confirmed the incident, acknowledging that they mistakenly targeted their own supply plane.
