VisitSudanese Army Launches Major Offensive Against RSF in 17-Month War
Sep 26, 2024, 07:49 AM
The Sudanese army has launched a significant offensive against the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum, marking the first major operation in nearly four months. The offensive, which began early Thursday morning, includes heavy artillery and air strikes. The army has made notable advances, capturing Alsouq Alarabi, a key area in the capital, and taking control of the Mc Nimir bridge, which connects Bahri and Khartoum. Fighting has also intensified in central, northern, and southern Khartoum, particularly around Al-Mogran and the army's general headquarters. This is the biggest operation since early in the 17-month war.
