VisitSteve Rotheram Wins Liverpool Mayor with 68%, Urges General Election

Steve Rotheram has been re-elected as the Liverpool City Region Mayor for a third term, securing a significant victory under the Labour banner with 68% of the vote. Rotheram received a total of 183,932 votes, far surpassing his competitors from the Conservative Party who garnered 27,708 votes (10%), the Green Party with 26,417 votes (9.8%), the Liberal Democrats at 21,366 votes (7.9%), and the Independent candidate with 11,032 votes (4.1%). Following his victory, Rotheram called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to call a general election, asserting that his party is 'ready when you are'.
