VisitStarkWare and Cartridge Introduce ZKThreads Standard for Scalable ZK Applications on StarkNet
May 23, 2024, 01:05 PM
StarkWare Ltd has introduced the ZKThreads standard, a new scaling framework for decentralized zero-knowledge (ZK) applications on its Layer 2 (L2) network, StarkNet. This innovative framework, developed in collaboration with Cartridge, aims to enhance scalability and customizability without fragmentation. The ZKThreads standard allows for provable dApps, eliminating the need for developers to build their own infrastructure. Additionally, StarkNet's new framework offers lower costs than traditional L2 solutions by only charging fees when retracting back to the connected network. This development is part of StarkWare's broader efforts to advance Ethereum scaling solutions, including its recent partnership with Radius XYZ. The ZKThreads standard is inspired by the ERC-20 standard and will expand the product lineup based on the Fractal framework.
