VisitStandard Chartered Expands to Offer Bitcoin Custody Services to EU Clients in Luxembourg
Jan 9, 2025, 02:08 PM
Standard Chartered, a bank with $870 billion in assets under management, has launched crypto custody services in Luxembourg, expanding its operations across Europe. The move follows the bank securing a license in Luxembourg, allowing it to offer digital asset custody services under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations. Standard Chartered has established a new entity in Luxembourg to facilitate these services, which include custody for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for EU clients. This expansion is seen as a step towards mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.
