A tragic stampede at Baba Siddhnath Temple in Makhdumpur, Jehanabad district, Bihar, resulted in at least seven deaths, including six women, and injuries to 16 individuals. The incident occurred during the early hours of Monday amid the Sawan festivities, which see a large gathering of devotees at Baba Siddheshwar Nath Temple. The stampede was reportedly triggered by a scuffle between a flower seller and attendees. Local authorities, including Jehanabad District Magistrate Alankrita Pandey, confirmed that the situation is now under control. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced compensation of four lakh rupees for the families of the deceased.
