Spirit Airlines has implemented a new dress code policy for its passengers, effective January 22, 2025. The updated policy prohibits passengers from boarding or remaining on flights if they are barefoot, inadequately clothed, or have visible tattoos or clothing deemed lewd, obscene, or offensive. 'Inadequately clothed' is defined as wearing see-through clothing, not being adequately covered, or exposing private parts such as breasts or buttocks. The policy also extends to items with unpleasant odors, unless caused by a qualifying disability. This update follows incidents where passengers were removed from flights for their attire, including two women who were asked to leave a Spirit flight for wearing crop tops.
