Spain's Ministry of Consumer Affairs has imposed a historic fine totaling €179 million on five low-cost airlines—Ryanair, Vueling, EasyJet, Norwegian, and Volotea—for engaging in abusive practices. Ryanair, the main target of the sanction, along with the others, has been penalized for charging passengers additional fees for hand luggage, seat selection, and printing boarding passes, practices deemed deceptive and unfair by the government.
