Sep 28, 2024, 06:33 PM
SpaceX has launched a rescue mission for two NASA astronauts, Sunita Williams and Barry 'Butch' Wilmore, who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since June 2024. The mission, utilizing SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft, aims to bring the astronauts back to Earth after their prolonged stay caused by issues with Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. The rescue mission, known as Crew-9, involves a downsized crew to accommodate the return of the stranded astronauts. A Falcon rocket blasted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Saturday, and the astronauts are expected to return to Earth in February 2025.
