South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol will not attend the first formal hearing of his impeachment trial scheduled for January 14 at the Constitutional Court, citing concerns about his personal safety and possible incidents, according to his lawyer Yun Gap-geun. Yoon, who was impeached over his Emergency Martial Rule, faces a second arrest attempt by authorities, which his legal team claims involves an illegal and invalid arrest warrant. "There are concerns about security and the possibility of incidents," his lawyer said.
