Sony Group has officially entered the cryptocurrency market by acquiring Amber Japan, a regulated digital asset exchange. This strategic move marks Sony's significant expansion into the crypto space, leveraging the Amber platform to launch a new crypto exchange in Japan. The newly acquired platform will be rebranded as S.BLOX. Additionally, new users signing up through Nuro Mobile, Sony's mobile reseller, will receive ¥3,000 in Bitcoin. The acquisition also follows Sony's purchase of crypto lender DeCurret Inc.
