Sep 19, 2024, 04:50 AM
Solana Mobile has unveiled its second-generation web3 smartphone, the Solana Seeker, during the Token2049 event. The Seeker, which will ship in 2025, has already amassed over 140,000 pre-orders, generating $70 million in revenue, five times the demand compared to its predecessor, the Saga. The Seeker features upgraded hardware, including a 108+32 Megapixel camera, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It also includes new functionalities such as the Seed Vault Wallet, dApp Store 2.0, and the ability to generate tokenized AI agents through a collaboration with Alethea AI. Additionally, the device will come with four months of free Helium Mobile service. Emmett Hollyer, General Manager at Solana Labs, emphasized that the Seeker aims to be more than just a 'memecoin phone,' positioning itself as a 'rewards magnet' for users. Over half of the sales have come from the Asia-Pacific region, and the Seeker is priced at half the cost of the Saga. The phone was developed in collaboration with Solflare.
