Singapore's former transport minister, Subramnian Iswaran, is set to stand trial on Tuesday in a highly anticipated corruption case. The trial marks the city-state's biggest political scandal in nearly four decades. Iswaran faces 35 charges, including accepting gifts worth over S$403,000, obstructing justice, and receiving bribes related to the Singapore Grand Prix. However, he has pleaded guilty to lesser charges of obtaining gifts as a public servant and bribery charges after the prosecution amended the indictment against him.
